Now that the autumn is coming it's a good time to get new trees and shrubs in. The last thing to stop growing are the roots and the first thing to start growing in spring are the roots.....Good root establishment means good top growth. If we get a dry period again then the roots will be able to support the plant much better. Plant with some compost and bone meal to give the roots a boost and if still dry over autumn don't forget to water. Add a good mulch round the top and that will help retain moisture but also organically feed the plant as it rots down.
Refresh your pots ...plant your pansies and violas and get those bulbs in too for early spring colour.
